A 51-year-old Albany woman is accused of sexually abusing a student at South Albany High School, where she works as a library aide.
Heidi Hyre turned herself in to detectives at the Albany Police Department. She faces several charges including sex abuse, using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct, luring a minor and contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor.
Hyre is a classified employee with the Greater Albany Public Schools and is employed at South Albany High School as a library aide.
Detectives said they interviewed three high school students who sent and received sexually explicit messages and photos with Hyre via text messaging. All three students were 17 years old when these incidents occurred, according to Lt. Brad Lyles.
“Hyre also engaged in a sexual encounter with one of the 17-year-old male students, in her vehicle, in the area of the 1300 block of SE Oak Street, Albany, during December 2011,” Liles said.
Anyone with information that may help investigators was asked to contact Albany police detectives at 541-917-7686.
